Ustaad Muhammad Wajid Kashigar
Ustaad Muhammad Wajid Kashigar is a descendant of the famous Kashigar family for over 350 years. They came to Multan with the army of Muhammad bin Qasim. His fatherHaji Ustaad Allah Diwaya Kashigar received the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 1984. Wajid is the only one of his seven siblings who pursued this legacy. He is the sixth generation who carries forth kashigari and his children now continue with this tradition.
Ustaad Wajid is the recipient of the ‘Kamal e fun’ Award from Punjab Govt. and many other prestigious awards. He hasmade exquisite Kashigari at airports, shrines, tombs, mosques and private buildings. He is consulted for the delicate rehabilitation and restoration of historical monuments. He conducted workshops for children for six months in England.He represented Pakistan in India, Oman, Dubai & Muscat and other countries and has attended many local and international workshops.
